WATCH: With surfing being added to the Olympics for 2020 in Tokyo, Surf Canada will be looking for the best of the best here on the Island at the upcoming National Championships in Tofino.
The competition goes May 10 through the 12 at Wickaninish Beach and will crown Canada’s top surfers, many of whom hail from Vancouver Island. This year’s event not only decide Canada’s top surfers but also mark the first step in qualifying for the Olympic games. This will be the first glance at Canada’s inaugural Olympic surfing team.
