
UPDATE: DriveBC says a single northbound lane of Trans-Canada Highway 1 between Cobble Hill and Mill Bay has reopened following a crash Saturday morning.

The northbound lanes of Trans-Canada Highway 1 between Cobble Hill and Mill Bay have closed due to a crash.
According to DriveBC, a 5.6 kilometre stretch of the Trans-Canada Highway between Cobble Hill Road and Wilmont Road following a vehicle incident that resulted in downed hydro lines.
DriveBC says a detour is in place between Cowichan Bay Road to Koksilah Road.
According to BC Hydro’s website, 53 customers are without power west of Cowichan Bay Road, south of Koksilah Road, north of Thain Road, east of Lakeside Road. Crews are currently on scene and power is expected to be restored by 12:30 p.m.
A witness told CHEK News that the vehicle involved was a commercial truck and that RCMP are on scene.
No timeframe for reopening was provided by DriveBC.
