Earlier today HarbourCats ‘knuckleballer’ Claire Eccles became the first female to start a game in West Coast League history.

The 19-year-old UBC student allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while walking 4 and striking out 1 through 3 innings of play.

The HarbourCats offense exploded for 14 hits and 11 runs on route to a convincing 11-2 victory over the Kitsap Blue Jackets in the first of a non-league double-header.
