Multiple employees working at Thrifty Foods locations on Vancouver Island have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

According to an update on Sobey’s website, two employees working at Thrifty Foods in Parksville and one employee working at Thrifty Foods on Quadra Street in Saanich recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The two Parksville employees last worked on March 23 and March 28 while the Saanich employee’s last shift was on March 31.

Sobey’s, which is the parent company of Thrifty Foods, is one of the few companies to actively disclose whether their employees have tested positive for COVID.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on the company’s website.

Thrifty Foods has approximately 20 stores on Vancouver Island.
