Grizzlies lose hot hand to injury in game two loss to Spruce Kings

CHEK

WATCH: If a 4-2 game two loss isn’t enough, the Victoria Grizzlies could be without one of their top scorers moving forward as the Prince George Spruce Kings were victorious for a second straight night and take a 2-0 series lead.

Unlike game one, the Victoria Grizzlies opened the scoring in game two, but were unable to hold the lead as the Spruce Kings came out firing in the second period. In the third period, with the Grizzlies down 3-2, Victoria forward Marty Westhaver was clocked in his own zone by AP forward Finlay Williams of Prince George. Westhaver appeared to go down hard and was favouring his shoulder as he left the game and didn’t return. There’s no word on Westhaver’s status for game three in Victoria, but the 19-year-old forward has been dynamite for the Grizzlies this post-season, recording eight goals and 15 points in 13 playoff games.

Game three goes Monday night at the Q Centre.
