WATCH: Thanks to a goal just eight seconds into the game and a 5 to 0 first-period lead, the Victoria Grizzlies took down the Cowichan Valley Capitals 7 to 4 at the Island Savings Centre on Saturday night.
Justin Michaelian stole the puck right off the face-off before walking in and scoring his 23rd goal of the season, and the Grizzlies would add four more in the first period alone.
The Capitals would try and mount a comeback in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals to pull within two, but the damage had already been done.
The Grizzlies go on to win 7 to 4 and maintain their spot in first place in the BCHL’s Island Division, just three points separate the top two teams in the division.
