The GoodLife Fitness Victoria Marathon takes place on Oct. 13, 2019.

The 40th annual Goodlife Fitness Victoria marathon will take more than 8,000 people through the streets of Victoria.

Spectators who do not have the chance to go down to watch the participants on Oct. 13 will be able to see the finish line live on CHEK’s Facebook page. The video link to the Facebook video is below.

Races

Marathon – early start, Menzies St. at Quebec beside the BC Legislative Buildings, 6:30 a.m.

Half Marathon – wheelchair athletes, Menzies St. at Quebec beside the BC Legislative Buildings, 7:55 a.m.

Half Marathon – visually impaired athletes, Menzies St. at Quebec beside the BC Legislative Buildings, 7:55 a.m.

Marathon – wheelchair athletes, Menzies St. at Quebec beside the BC Legislative Buildings, 7:55 a.m.

Road Closures

The marathon will affect traffic in the following areas: Downtown, James Bay, Cook Street Village, Beacon Hill Park, Fairfield, Oak Bay and Uplands. Residents and commuters should expect delays, and be prepared to use alternate routes. Roads will be re-opened on a rolling schedule as the participants pass through the various neighbourhoods.

There will be no parking on the race route. Signs will be put up by the City of Victoria and cars will be towed from roads along the course beginning at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.
