A kiteboarder was stranded offshore Sunday after he lost his board near Ross Bay Beach in Victoria.
A paddleboarder saw this and made his way out — eventually towing the man and his sail back to shore.
Tashi Sekhon says she saw the man in distress when he was almost one kilometre out, and immediately called 911.
“It was quite an endeavour because the water was choppy and the wind was a little strong,” she said. “It was wonderful what he [the paddleboarder] did for the rescued man.”
Officials say the kiteboarder got tangled in a buoy, resulting in him losing his board.
He sustained no injuries.
