Giannattasio leads Vikes women past Cascades in playoff showdown

CHEK

WATCH: Coming off a 44-point game, UVIC Vikes 5th year guard Amira Giannattasio continued her spectacular play on Friday night, dropping a game-high 26 points in an 80-61 victory over the Fraser Valley Cascades in a single knockout play-in at CARSA.

The Vikes’ veteran finished with a line of 26 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, encapsulating the Vikes’ strong defensive game throughout the evening. Third-year guard Morgan Roskelley chipped in with 17 points of her own to pull away from the Cascades.

Up next for the Vikes, a truly monster task, as they’ll likely head to Calgary next week to take on the #2 ranked Dinos.
