Gas prices jumped a whopping 13 cents at most gas stations across Greater Victoria over the past 24 hours.

Fuel prices were previously at 199.9 cents per litre on Wednesday, before jumping to 212.9 cents per litre in the evening and on Thursday.

Current prices in Victoria are the highest they’ve been since October 2022.

They’re still below the region’s record-breaking prices that were set around this time last year.

On Sept. 28, 2022, almost one year to the day, gas prices reached a historic 239.9 cents per litre in Greater Victoria.

The Island continues to have some of the highest gas prices in Canada.

While the average cost of fuel in Victoria sits at 212.9 cents per litre Thursday, the provincial average costs just 197.7 cents per litre, while the national average is 163.9 cents per litre, according to fuel-tracking website GasBuddy.
