FortisBC says the damaged gas service line in Central Saanich has now been repaired.
Wallace Drive near Brewskys Taphouse had single-lane alternating traffic while crews repaired the service line.
Central Saanich Police and Fire initially said there was a gas leak, however, FortisBC clarified that it was a damaged gas line done by a third party.
Holly Harrison, corporate communication specialist with FortisBC said there were 11 customers affected.
“We just want to remind everyone that if you do smell rotten eggs or hear the sound of escaping gas, stop what you’re doing, go outside and dial 911 or call our Fortis BC 24 hour emergency line,” Harrison said.
