Foul play suspected in death of man in Metchosin

West Shore RCMP believe that foul play was involved in the death of a man whose body was found in Metchosin on Friday.

Police said on Friday, officers discovered a deceased man in a Metchosin residence. West Shore RCMP were following up on a report of the man missing from work.

Police have deemed the death suspicious and said foul play is suspected.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit is investigating along with the West Shore RCMP. No suspects have been arrested in connection with the death.

No other details have been released by police.

“Investigators are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.  Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time as family are being notified.  We will release more detailed information in the coming days,” Cpl. Chris Dovell, media relations officer for the West Shore RCMP, said in a statement.
