WATCH: Defenceman Joe Hicketts registered his first career NHL points Tuesday night in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
“Jumbo” Joe, a former captain of the Victoria Royals, also made a few key defensive plays in securing the Red Wings victory. Announcers complimented Hicketts’ play throughout the game and even called the 21-year-old Kamloops product the “first star of the game.”
