WATCH: Former Victoria Royals Captain Joe Hicketts has been recalled by the Detroit Red Wings and was in the line-up for Tuesday night?s game against Pittsburgh.
The NHL club recalled Hicketts on Monday following a 4-2 loss to Montreal and reports from the Red Wings indicate this may be a lon21-year-oldr the 21 year old than in January when he played his first NHL game in New Jersey before being sent down to Grand Rapids the next day.
In his debut on Jan. 22, a 3-0 Detroit win, Hicketts played more than 15 minutes of ice time and recorded three blocked shots.
In his second year with the AHL’s Griffins, Hicketts has three goals, seven assists and 32 penalty minutes in 63 games.
