Victoria police are investigating an incident near the B.C. Leiglsature in which Forests Minister Katrine Conroy was knocked to the ground, according to the Premier’s Office.

Conroy was walking home from the legislature Tuesday night when an unknown person knocked her down, causing her to suffer minor injuries including cuts, bruises and possible fractures to her hands.

Victoria police were notified of the incident and a report was filed. No other details have been released.

Because the incident did not occur on the legislature grounds, it was outside the reach of the facility’s security cameras, the Premier’s Office said.

Police say they’re looking to speak with anyone with information, which includes a Good Samaritan they say may have assisted the minister during or after the incident.
