A band of snow is tracking south and will dump 5-10 cms of snow on many areas of Vancouver Island overnight and Friday. Just a 30 per cent chance of snow this evening but overnight the snow will pick up.

Lows tonight will drop to around -1 C but with the wind that will feel like -5 C. Friday expect 5-10 cms of snow for Greater Victoria, the Cowichan Valley and east Vancouver Island including Nanaimo and Port Alberni. Highs Friday will reach 2 C and a wind warning is posted for later in the afternoon with northeast wind gusting from 70-90 km/h. Saturday is another chilly one with highs of 3 C and a 60 per cent chance of more snow.
