A company that prides itself as an ultra-low fare airline has announced plans to start service in Victoria this coming June.

Flair Airlines from Kelowna is more than doubling its flight service and part of the expansion includes direct flights between Victoria and Edmonton.

You can also connect to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Toronto and Hamilton.

Flair currently operates 90 flights per week, but that will grow to 208 flights starting June 15, including the route between Victoria and Edmonton.

The introductory fares to Edmonton start at $79 for a one-way ticket, with taxes and fees included.

Flair Air CEO Jim Scott says the added schedule shows there is a strong demand for low-fare flying.
