Saanich firefighters stopped a fire from destroying a house on Sims Avenue Wednesday.
Firefighers were called to a structure fire around 3 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke billowing out of the home at 276 Sims Avenue.
The crew attacked the flames from the back of the house and got it under control. No one was home at the time.

There were no reports of any injuries. There is no word yet on the extent of the damage. The cause is under investigation.
