Fire outside house on Lawndale Avenue quickly extinguished by Victoria firefighters

Victoria firefighters quickly put out a fire outside a home on Lawndale Avenue Friday afternoon.

Fire crews were called to a house in the 800-block of Lawndale Avenue at around 3:15 p.m. for a report of a fire inside a tent.

The homeowner told CHEK News, the fire was caused by a battery exploding inside an electric scooter.

The fire is out and the tent is being cleaned up. The homeowner said the damage appears to be minimal. No injuries were reported.
