An evening fire engulfed a house on Jahn Place in Sidney near the Victoria International Airport early Saturday evening.
Flames and smoke were visible from the intersection at Beacon Ave. W and the Patricia Bay Highway.
Witnesses say emergency crews were on scene early Saturday evening, with a dozen or more vehicles fighting to control the blaze.
Traffic was being diverted away from Beacon Ave. W by emergency crews.
Sidney Volunteer Fire Department tweeted at 4:51 p.m. that the fire was extinguished and although there was extensive damage to the house there were no injuries reported.

Deputy Fire Chief Mike Harman with the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department says emergency crews received a report of the fire at 4:06 p.m.
Harman says that the homeowners were on scene when crews arrived, and an investigation into the cause of the fire will proceed Sunday morning.
