Family Feud is coming to Canada, and a coast-to-coast search for contestant families will include auditions in Victoria this September.

CBC will be premiering a Canadian version of Family Feud this fall.

Contestants interested in appearing on the popular game show, which puts families head-to-head as they guess the most popular answers to survey questions, can submit applications online at cbc.ca/familyfeud.

Successful applicants will be invited to an audition at a city that is convenient for them to access. For residents on Vancouver Island, that audition will most likely be in Victoria, roughly two weeks into September.

While there is no official deadline for applications, Co-Executive Producer Tracie Tighe said that “the sooner, the better” applications are submitted, the more likely they are to be successful.

Tighe said that family teams must consist of 5 members, all be over the age 18 to apply, and producers are especially interested in people with energetic personalities. “High energy people, outgoing personalities, people who can play the game,” said Tighe. “Families with a great story or hook. Dynamic, fun, those are the kinds of words we’re looking for.”

Families who are selected from the audition process will be flown to the Canadian Broadcasting Centre in Toronto for tapings of the show in front of a live studio audience.
