Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria.

Environment Canada issued a wind warning Tuesday for Greater Victoria, saying strong winds that may cause damage are expected.

The weather service says a “robust frontal system” is approaching Vancouver Island, and at its peak, winds will be 70 kilometres/hour near the water around mid-Wednesday afternoon.

Environment Canada says Wednesday night, winds will ease from the southeast, but will be strong out of the west.

“Winds will ease below criteria Thursday morning but it will remain breezy through Thursday,” Environment Canada said in it’s wind warning.

Officials warn loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage and advises residents to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
