A 1985 Ferrari caught fire and caused delays southbound on Highway 1 in View Royal Sunday afternoon.

The View Royal Fire Department responded around 2:33 p.m. and said they determined the fire originated from the electronics in the taillights.

Due to the value of the vehicle, crews tried to minimize damage as they worked to find and put out the fire in the rear of the classic supercar.

The cause of the fire was handed over to the insurance company. The driver was not injured.

Southbound traffic was down to one lane during the incident but opened back up to multiple lanes soon after.

“We appreciate everybody’s patience from the delay,” said View Royal assistant fire chief Rob Marshall.
