An earthquake struck off the coast of western Vancouver Island yesterday.
According to Earthquakes Canada, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded 110 kilometres southwest of Port Alice at 9:46 p.m. on May 9. It struck at a depth of 10 kilometres.
There are no reports of damage and Earthquakes Canada says none would be expected. There were no reports of anyone feeling the earthquake and there was no tsunami warning issued.
