Early morning crash sends four to hospital, Victoria Police investigating

Police say two of the individuals suffered potentially life-altering injuries.

Police in Victoria are investigating a single-vehicle crash that sent four to hospital early Sunday morning.

VicPD say officers were called to the intersection of Fisgard and Blanshard streets just after 12:10 a.m. after a report that a vehicle had crashed into the side of a building.

The five people inside were pulled from the vehicle by B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics and Victoria Fire Department firefighters, according to police.

Police say four of the five people were transported to hospital with varying medical conditions.

Two of the occupants suffered potentially life-altering injuries and are still in hospital, according to police. The two others are suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was arrested and transported to jail.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
