Saanich police are investigating a collision between a truck and an e-scooter that left a rider with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say it happened Friday, Nov. 26 at around 8:50 a.m. in the intersection of Vanalman and Glanford avenues.

Officers learned that the truck driver spoke to the injured scooter operator but did not exchange information before leaving the scene, reportedly heading eastbound on Vanalman Avenue toward the Pat Bay Highway.

The driver is described as white, between 40-50 years old, with grey hair and a grey beard and wearing a high-visibility vest. The truck is described as a blue four-door Toyota Tacoma and was seen driving away from the scene on CCTV footage.

“Motorists are required to remain on scene after a collision, provide assistance if necessary and  exchange information with any driver and any other person involved that may be injured,” said Saanich police spokesman Const. Markus Anastasiades.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 250-475-4321.
