BC Ferries is reminding travellers who normally go through Duke Point that it will be closed this weekend for upgrades at the terminal.
The corporation announced more than two weeks ago the vehicle ramp at the facility needs to be replaced.
Sailings from Nanaimo for the Duke Point-Tsawwassen route will be operated at the Departure Bay terminal Saturday and Sunday, and sailing times will be different from what BC Ferries currently runs from Duke Point.
#BCFHeadsUp#DukePoint terminal will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. This weekend, sailings normally out of Duke Point terminal will be operating out of #DepartureBay in #Nanaimo on a modified schedule.

The corporation says the dates chosen to have work done at the terminal were based on them being traditionally the least busy travel days of the year.
A barge and crane will be used to remove and replace the existing apron that has been in place since the terminal opened in 1997.
