Drugs and large sum of cash found in Saanich home, one person arrested

A 39-year -old Saanich man faces a number of charges including drug trafficking.

Saanich Police say the man was arrested during a traffic stop on Blenkinsop Road on July 31st after he’d been spotted acting suspiciously earlier.

Officers obtained a search warrant for his home in the 1600-block of San Juan Avenue.

During a search of the residence, police found more than $170,000 in cash, half a kilogram of drugs with an estimated street value of $81,000, as well as two stun batons.

Its believed the drugs include cocaine, heroine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The suspect has been released from custody.

Saanich Police are recommending three counts of drug trafficking and two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
