Victoria police are urging drivers to avoid a stretch of Douglas Street following a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.
VicPD posted to X (formerly Twitter) around 4:54 p.m., saying “officers are currently on scene for a motor vehicle accident” in the 2100-block of Douglas Street, which is near Pembroke Street in downtown Victoria.
A CHEK News reporter on the scene captured video of what appears to be a body covered by a blanket.
A white pickup truck and a blue motorcycle are badly damaged and behind police tape, and debris is all over the road.
Police say traffic is being diverted off Douglas Street in both directions from Princess Avenue to Caledonia Avenue.
VicPD will post updates to its X account.
