Mounties on the West Shore are asking anyone who may have seen a motorist hit a teenage girl as she was waiting for the bus in Langford.

The incident happened at the insection of Sooke Lake Road and Amy Road at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 28).

According to West Shore RCMP, a 14-year-old girl was standing at the bus stop near the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The girl sustained minor physical injuries and is expected to recover and the driver later turned themselves in after an initial press release about the incident was released by the RCMP.

However, West Shore RCMP say their investigation is still ongoing and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything or anyone with dash camera footage to contact them at 250-474-2264.
