Vancouver Police have released dashcam video of scary incident last month that injured a VPD constable during a traffic stop.
The video taken on September 23 shows a police vehicle stopped on the road’s shoulder, lights flashing, having pulled over another driver.
It then shows a car zooming past the vehicle with the dashcam at high speed and, moments later, slamming right into the stopped police vehicle.
Police say the officer was working on a distracted driving campaign, targeting unsafe driving behaviour, when their vehicle was struck by a distracted driver.
VPD want the images to serve as vivid reminder to “drive with care and keep your eyes on the road.”
