Some people wore devil costumes at the Comox Valley Christmas Parade Sunday, having fun with an event ad typo that said "Pictures With Satan".

Halloween may be more than a month ago, but a few people in the Comox Valley got dressed up after an unfortunate typo in a promotional ad for a Christmas event.

The Comox Valley Record provided information in its Nov. 21 edition for Sunday’s Christmas Parade in Courtenay, but instead of pictures with Santa, the ad said people could get “Pictures With Satan”.

While Jolly St. Nick did arrive for the event, so did others in full devil regalia and instead of holly, they were decked in horns and painted red faces.

The typo even got international attention, with a bit on Late Night with Seth Myers.

An editorial from the Comox Valley Record said the ad “lacked attention to detail” and that the display ad stood out for all the wrong reasons.

However, it went on to say, “On the bright side, everyone in the Comox Valley and beyond knows when the Courtenay Christmas parade is.”
