After an initial investigation, Saanich Police say the cause of death of a man who was found deceased near the Lochside Trail is not suspicious.
On May 25 around 8 a.m., police were called to the bridge at Carey Road and Ravine Way for an unresponsive man under the bridge.
When police arrived, they found that the man was dead.
A Major Crime Unit investigation determined the cause of death is not suspicious, and the BC Coroners Service will now continue the investigation.
The trail was closed while the police investigation was underway, and reopened around 12:30 p.m.

The body has been removed & the Lochside Trail is now open. Police not giving a ton of info other than a passerby found a non responsive male this AM. A strong decaying smell was coming from the area but SaanichPD were unable to say how long this person had been dead @CHEK_News
