Cyclist taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries in Saanich collision

Saanich Police officers are investigating a crash between a driver and cyclist on May 28, 2023.

Following a collision between a driver and cyclist, a cyclist has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Saanich Police.

Around 8:15 a.m., police were called to the 4700-block of Cordova Bay Road for a collision between a cyclist and driver.

Lanes were temporarily closed between Galey Way and Royal Oak Drive for an investigation but have since reopened.

Police are asking to speak with witnesses or for dash cam footage of the collision and leading up to it.

According to ICBC’s crash statistics, between 2017 and 2021, there were 63 crashes at the Royal Oak Drive and Cordova Bay Road intersection.
