
Victoria police are investigating after a cyclist was injured in a Monday morning collision.
Around 7:45 a.m., VicPD officers were called to the intersection of Government and Bay streets for a report that a cyclist was injured in a collision involving a vehicle.
According to police, BC Emergency Health Services paramedics provided treatment to the cyclist before transporting them to hospital for further medical care.
“The cyclist’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening but will require additional treatment over a longer recovery period,” VicPD said in a statement.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing. The intersection was closed to traffic for about two hours as investigators gathered evidence.
