North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say they are working on identifying a suspect after reports of sexual assaults outside the Cowichan District Hospital earlier in November.

The assaults allegedly took place between Nov. 2 to Nov. 17 near the grounds of the Cowichan District Hospital grounds.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said they were made aware of these assault on Nov. 17 and immediately began working with Island Health on this investigation.

“The RCMP are hoping to speak to anyone who has information on these alleged assaults, or who is a victim who has yet to come forward,” Cpl Chris Manseau, Divisional Media relations officer for the BC RCMP.

“It has been circulated that there are multiple victims who haven’t yet spoken to police. They may not know that their evidence could be crucial in identifying a suspect.”

Uniformed RCMP officers in marked police vehicles will be increasing their patrols of the property. Anyone who feels unsafe is asked to speak with one of the members who will offer assistance.
