If you’ve recently seen an ad for a craft fair at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre on Facebook, it’s a scam, according to the Cowichan Valley Regional District.
In a post on Facebook, the CVRD says a Facebook Marketplace ad is saying there is a craft fair at the rec centre on May 27, 28, June 10 and 11, and is selling spots for vendors at $65 per table.
However, there is no such craft fair, according to the district.
“Please do not click, engage or send money to this ad; it is a scam,” the post says.
Anyone who sees the ad is asked to report it to Facebook or other social media websites if it is posted elsewhere, and to contact the local police.
