A COVID-19 outbreak that saw two staff members at a Victoria long-term care home infected with COVID-19 has been declared over.

The outbreak was first declared at Craigdarroch Care Home in Victoria on April 23 after the two workers tested positive.

Island Health said immediate action was taken to limit the spread of the outbreak so that no one else was infected.

As of May 5, the outbreak was declared over because there were “no longer any COVID-19 cases related to the outbreak at the site,” Island Health said.

Now that the outbreak is over, social visits will resume and admissions and transfers will also resume.

Residents will be able to resume congregate dining with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

The facility is operated by Trillium Communities.
