A coronavirus exposure has been confirmed at an elementary school in the Harbour City.

Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District (SD68) announced on social media that École Quarterway — located on Townsite Road — experienced COVID exposures on April 20, 21 and 22.

As of Sunday morning, the school has not been added to Island Health’s school exposure list.

An exposure is defined by Island Health as a single person with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection who attended school during their infectious period.

According to Island Health, a child can continue to attend school if a parent or guardian does not receive a phone call or letter from public health.

Should a parent or guardian see a notification on Island Health’s school exposure site, it does not necessarily mean their child has been exposed to COVID-19.

École Quarterway has experienced a #COVID19 exposure. Potential exposure dates are April 20, 21 & 22.
