Saanich police are warning the public, after a cougar was allegedly spotted crossing Blanshard Street near Saanich Road early Sunday morning.
The report came in to officials just after midnight.
Police were unable to find the cougar in the area, but felt it was a credible sighting.
The B.C. Conservation Service was also notified.
If a cougar is spotted the public is urged to immediately contact police.
