UPDATE: The BC Conservation Officer Service says the young cougar captured in the Gorge Road East area on Friday was tagged and will be released back into the wilderness
A cougar that was seen on Gorge Road East has sedated and removed from a tree.
Just after 3:45 p.m., VicPD confirmed on Twitter that they were in the 100-block of Gorge Road East, near the Gorge Road Hospital, after a cougar was seen in the Gorge-Burnside neighbourhood.

Conservation officers, police, animal control and firefighters used a ladder to bring the animal down from the tree.
