Comox Valley RCMP searching for dump truck driver who struck e-bike rider

Authorities in the Comox Valley are looking for a dump truck driver who allegedly hit an e-bike rider early Tuesday.

Comox Valley RCMP says that around 7 a.m., one of their frontline officers found the man who was struck on Comox Avenue, near Aitken Street and Manor Drive.

The man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover, according to police.

Mounties say officers searched for the truck but had no luck finding it. It’s described as a large, grey-coloured tandem dump truck that was towing a trailer.

Police are looking to talk to anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run or may have more information about the driver or vehicle.
