Police in Comox are asking for the public to help them locate a missing man.

John Wesley Edwards (Wes), 45, was last seen on March 20 in Courtenay according to Comox Valley RCMP.

RCMP say it is unusual for Edwards to go a long period of time without communicating with his family or friends. They also say Edwards is known to travel to Alberta and may have made his way out there before he stopped communicating with friends and family.

Edwards is described as having blonde and grey hair and blue eyes. He is five-foot-nine and weighs approximately 145 pounds.

“We need to make sure Wes is alright,” Comox Valley RCMP said in a release. “We have interviewed multiple people who know Wes; however, still, nobody has seen him or heard from him since March 20 in Courtenay.”

Const. Monika Terragni of the Comox Valley RCMP told CHEK News that at this point in the investigation, they do not know why Edwards has gone missing.

“We do not have any evidence to indicate he was heading somewhere, something happened to him, or he simply decided to leave and doesn’t want to be found,” said Terragni.
