People enjoying the waterfront in Victoria may spot a hovercraft in waters off Ogden Point this week, the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) says.
CCG divers on board Hovercraft CCGS Siyay plan to relocate sea life around the Brotchie Ledge reef, found south of Victoria harbour, before working to remove an underwater power cable, the government agency said in a series of tweets Monday.
“The cable previously powered a navigational aid that is now powered by solar panels,” states one tweet.
Observers may see float bags on the water to mark sections of the cable, according to the CCG, which is asking people to keep their vessels clear of the area while work is underway.
