Lawyers for the City of Victoria will be in BC Supreme Court on Wednesday morning for a hearing on an injunction to remove boats illegally moored in the Gorge waterway.

The City says there are currently 17 boats and four docks moored in the Gorge that violate zoning regulations

The injunction would require owners to remove all the vessels and docks.

It follows changes to the bylaw in May of 2016 to limit mooring to a maximum of 48-hours at a time and 72-hours in any 30-day period.

The City is working with Pacifica Housing to try to help those living aboard those vessels that can’t be moved safely to find new accomodation.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
