After visiting Auschwitz in 2006, a Saanich composer made it her mission to honour the millions of innocent lives.

Before she could compose her piece, Christie Morrison decided she would seek out a Holocaust survivor who could inspire her music.

It wasn’t until years later, during a family vacation in Arizona, that a chance encounter in a used book store would eventually unite her with Oskar Knoblauch.

Knoblauch’s story and his friendship eventually became the inspiration behind Christie’s tribute entitled “Lost Nursery Rhymes of Innocent Children”.
