CHEK’s “Connections” series hosted and produced by Calvin To has been awarded the Radio Television Digital News Association’s (RTDNA) Adrienne Clarkson award for diversity for the west region.

The series explores the growing diversity in Victoria by following stories from new Canadians and their journeys to this country.

The award was accepted in Vancouver Saturday night at the organization’s 2019 Western Regional Meeting.

Created in partnership with the Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria Connections began in September 2018 and has released six episodes, that can be found here.

The award was accepted Saturday night, and is presented to the story or series that best exemplifies or explores diversity.

Entries are judged on a unique or original exploration of an issue relevant to a diverse society, editorial excellence, technical quality of production and overall impact.

RTDNA  is a progressive organization offering a forum for open discussion and action in the broadcast news industry.
