A 28-year-old man from Central Saanich was arrested and police seized $50,000 worth of drugs and $35,000 in cash while a search warrant was carried out at Keating Cross Road on Thursday.

Police said just after 1 p.m., officers, with assistance from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home in the 1500-block of Keating Cross Road. Officers found cocaine, meth, MDMA (estacy), Xanax, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), oxycodone, morphine and LSD (acid) along with the cash.

A 2015 Mercedes worth approximately $50,000 was also seized.

Police are recommending a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

“Our police service carried out a thorough investigation upon receiving information from the public on drug trafficking within our community”, Central Saanich Police Service Deputy Chief Derren Lench said in a statement.

“We share the concerns of the citizens we serve regarding the dangers of drugs being sold. Our service appreciates the assistance of several policing partners including the Sidney/North Saanich
RCMP, Victoria Police Department and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team.”
