On a normally quiet Saanich street, a convoy of more than 50 large cement trucks revved through to show support for a man with stage-four cancer on Saturday.

Concrete company Butler Concrete & Aggregate organized the parade for their employee Herman Remodo’s 44th birthday, who stopped working just two weeks ago due to lung cancer.

Multiple concrete companies came together to show Remodo and his family support in any way they can.

The trucks gathered at Braefoot Park at 11 a.m., to then drive on by Remodo’s Saanich home, honking their horns and cheering him on, from a distance.

“I made it to my 44th, said Remodo. “It was on my bucket list.
