A man with alleged ties to organized crime is facing multiple charges after being arrested by Victoria Police in the summer.
VicPD says on July 4, officers seized a loaded handgun, $25,000 cash, and a significant amount of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl.
The arrest took place in the 200-block of Gorge Road East after an investigation VicPD says lasted several weeks.
Officers searched the man and found the cash, drugs and a loaded 9mm calibre pistol and two loaded pistol magazines and other ammunition.
Roy Pelgrom faces seven charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a firearm without a license, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, and careless storage of a firearm.
Police say Pelgrom self-identified himself to officers as a member of the Nortenos gang.
VicPD says there were no injuries in the arrest.
